Workday Project Website

Do you use Banner Finance/HR, Concur, ESM, BenefitFocus, Kronos or PeopleAdmin to perform HR or Finance tasks? If so, you will notice a change after July 1, 2019.  The University is replacing some of the older software systems that have assisted in the complex work of administering personnel and finances as Villanova continues to grow and transform as a national University.

Villanova leadership has selected Workday as the platform for this change. See the website at https://workday.villanova.edu to monitor the progress of the Workday@Novaproject.  For questions, email here @ workdayhelp@villanova.edu

New Voicemail System--Coming Soon!

UNIT is announcing a new voicemail system for the Villanova campus community. The new voicemail system will have all of the same options that are available in the current voicemail system along with several new and exciting features: email notifications, web access to voicemails, and a mobile application. Ahead of the change, all that is required of current voicemail subscribers is the setting up of your new mailbox; simply recording your name and a personal greeting. Stay tuned for more information and timeline.

Law Clinic--Mediasite Expansion

The clinics at the Charles Widger School of Law create opportunities for faculty to evaluate and assess students in both simulated and real-world interactions. Previously only one of the clinic's interview rooms was equipped with Mediasite recording capability. This limited access to Mediasite technology created scheduling and logistical challenges to recording and evaluating these interactions. UNIT’s Multimedia Technologies, utilizing newer Mediasite technology and working closely with Law School faculty and staff, developed a cost-effective way to expand the availability of push-button Mediasite recording to all four clinic interview rooms. This Mediasite expansion reduces the need for live, student-staffed recordings, creates additional opportunities for faculty to utilize Mediasite recordings to evaluate student interactions, expands the educational process within the clinic, and fosters academic excellence.

VU Woman in Tech Event

UNIT was a proud sponsor of the 4th Annual VU Women in Technology Conference held on January, 26th at the Inn at Villanova. This was UNIT’s first year supporting the conference alongside  other University sponsors: The 5 University Colleges, Center for Business Analytics, Institute for Women’s Leadership, ICE Center and the Department of Computing Sciences. IT Security: Search Yourself Online

You most likely have heard how important it is to protect your privacy and the information you share online.  The more attackers can learn about you, the better they can create a targeted attack. There are numerous sites you can search to learn more, such as Google Images, Google Maps, social media sites, and many others like https://pipl.comhttps://cubib.com, or https://familytreenow.com

For an interactive list of all the different websites, you can use to learn about yourself, we recommend the OSINT Framework at https://osintframework.com.  Stay safe online by:

  • Learning what other people or organizations have collected, posted, or shared about you online (churches, schools, sports clubs, or other local community sites).
  • Understanding that these same resources are available to anyone else, including cyber criminals who can use that information to target you.
  • Considering what you share publicly and the impact that information could have on you, your family, or your employer.
