Our Mission

  • Share information with other students to promote health awareness about alcohol and other drugs, sexual violence, sexual health, nutrition, and fitness.
  • Provide resources to the Villanova community.
  • Promote healthy choices based on valid and reliable scientific findings, personal goals and values, and the values of the Augustinian tradition of Villanova University.
  • Serve as active role models to our peers by making responsible decisions in our personal lives with special emphasis placed on privacy, approachability, and respect.

Who We Are

POWER stands for Peers Offering Wellness Education and Resources. We are a group of 20 students from all majors, years and backgrounds at Nova, but we have one thing in common- we are passionate about health and well-being! Through trainings focused on various content areas (alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, sexual violence, nutrition, mental well-being, communication, time management) AND practice in fields such as public speaking, facilitation, professionalism, and program planning and evaluation ... we work to bring new and creative programs and initiatives to the campus! We are part of the Office of Health Promotion which allows us to have a greater impact on the Nova community. To keep up, make sure you are following us on IG @villanovapower, and do not hesitate to reach out to for more information! Applications open every semester, and we hope to welcome new students to empower our fellow Wildcats to take health and well-being into their own hands!

What We Do

As members of POWER, we work in teams to sponsor and facilitate events related to health and well-being. We have the opportunity to plan events and programs, create social media and marketing campaigns, present to student organizations, assist in larger Office of Health Promotion events and more! We can also host interactive health programs with student organizations and other departments. These programs are available by request, so be sure to check them out here.
