Our Augustinian and Catholic heritage challenges us to think of leadership in unique and distinctive ways. According to Saint Augustine:
“I am a Christian for my own sake, whereas I am a leader for your sake; the fact that I am a Christian is to my own advantage, but I am a leader for your advantage.”
Indeed, Villanova University is committed to developing leaders who – instilled with a strong foundation of ethics and Augustinian thought – have a positive impact on society. Therefore, Villanova seeks to develop leaders who share a concern for the common good and who share an enthusiasm for the challenge of responsible and productive citizenship in order to build a just and peaceful world.
The Villanova Office of Student Involvement offers programming that provides a holistic approach to student formation through programs, leadership opportunities, and involvement. Through this involvement, students will understand and develop in the areas of cultural competence, servant leadership, social responsibility, a better understanding of self, and compassion to others!
