Local Program Hosts

One Weekend, a World of Transformations

Since its inception in 2002, the Local Program Host (LPH) program has become one of the best ways for freshmen students to become heavily involved in Special Olympics and have an immediate impact throughout the entire weekend.

The LPH program is open to all full-time freshmen students entering their first semester in the fall of 2019. The application and selection process takes place in mid-September.  LPH’s are expected to be present throughout the entire SPO Weekend Fall Festival. You should be available for all LPH committee meetings and be present for the entire Fall Festival from 2 p.m. on Friday, November 1st until 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 3rd. Throughout the weekend LPH’s are responsible for being a liaison between the Special Olympics Committee and the county participants to which the LPH is assigned. You will spend your weekend getting to know your athletes, cheering them on during competition, creating posters and cheers to support them, and setting an overall positive and exuberant tone for the weekend!

The LPH committee this year consists of seniors Hilary Korsen, Dal Figueroa, junior Cac Williams, and sophomore Peter Thabit!
