The Office of Disability Services at Villanova University has established the Father Bill Atkinson, O.S.A. Humanitarian Award to recognize an individual, group, or organization that exemplifies the spirit and service that Father Bill embodied throughout his life. The annual award, established in 2012 in honor of the late Father Bill Atkinson, is designed to recognize an individual, group, or organization for outstanding service to their community and beyond.
FR. BILL ATKINSON, O.S.A. HUMANITARIAN AWARD
LEVEL organizes social events throughout the year where we can come together as a group and have a fun, relaxing time. These social events range from playing Apples to Apples to decorating cupcakes to our annual Superbowl party. In addition, this October, LEVEL is proud to offer a retreat that is entirely accessible to all. We hope to continue this event in the future.
CAMPUS-WIDE EVENTS AND FUND RAISERS
LEVEL holds several fund raisers throughout the year. Our largest fund raiser, Casino Night, is held in the spring semester. The first year, it was held in the Villanova Room, and about 400 people attended. The second year, it was held in the Pavilion, and the money we raised was doubled. Over 600 people were enjoying Casino games, entertainment, food, and fun. Both years, LEVEL has given away over 80 prizes to lucky winners. If interested in donating or helping organize the third annual Casino Night, please contact: Gregory.Hannah@villanova.edu or firstname.lastname@example.org
We also host several smaller fund raisers throughout the school year, such as a dinner at a local restaurant.
For the first time in the program’s history, LEVEL brought a group of students to the NEXT LEVEL by providing a Service Break Trip Experience! 20 Villanova students traveled to Rocky Creek Ranch in Statesville, NC and Triple Play Farms in Davidson, NC on March 3rd for a week long Service Break Trip. Students of all abilities had the opportunity to lead, serve, engage, mentor, and most importantly grow as individuals in a fully accessible environment and continued to promote LEVEL’s mission to change the way people see ability. We hope to provide a Service Trip Experience each year during Break Week!
