· The Fryery offers veggie and turkey burgers as alternatives to all-beef burgers. Load up on healthy toppings like onions, mushrooms, lettuce, and tomato.
· The Good Earth station offers delicious vegan stir-fry. For a healthy choice, start with brown rice which is more nutrient-dense than white rice. Ask the Chef to go light on the sauce to avoid extra sodium and load up on the veggies!
· Can’t get enough Italian food? The Padre Pizza and Pasta station typically has vegetable options. Veggie pizza is a smarter choice than pepperoni pizza. Ask the Chef for Whole Wheat pasta to increase your whole grains and add veggies and beans for more nutrients, fiber, and protein. You can also top your dish with grated vegan cheese, available in the allergen replacement refrigerator.
· Feeling plain? Our cereal options are all “better for you” and don’t include any artificial coloring, nor do they contain high fructose corn syrup! Choose a whole grain cereal for the most nutrition. Every dining hall offers these cereals which all contain whole grains: Rice Chex, Chocolate Rice Chex, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cheerios, Golden Grahams, Raisin Bran, Special K Red Berries, Kashi 7 Whole Grain Flakes, Kashi Indigo Morning, and the Kellogg’s Low-Fat Granola.
