Villanova Tennis Club - Who We Are

Competitive Club Team

During the 03-04 school year, Villanova Club Tennis began USA Collegiate Team Tennis, sponsored by the USTA, NIRSA and ITA.

What truly makes us unique as a club team is that we are a co-ed team that plays year round indoors and outdoors. We spend all year playing tennis, bonding as a team, and traveling up and down the east coast and even across the country. It is the perfect way to start your Villanova career (or add something new to your Nova activities), because you get to be a part of a team of about fifty girls and boys across different grade levels, while getting to play a sport we all love at a competitive level. So basically we're out there to have fun and play hard!

Frequent opponents include Lehigh, Rutgers, UPenn, Penn State, University of Virginia, and University of Maryland, to name a few. Club Tennis is perfect for those who want to continue playing tennis in college at an advanced & competitive level, and who also want to have a good time with friends. We practice a few times a week, and we have many weekend matches and tournaments scheduled each semester. Every year we get the chance to play in a tournament at Flushing Meadows right after the US Open has ended, always an amazing experience. Best of all, we get the opportunity to compete at the annual USA Team Tennis National Campus Championships. In the past 5 years, this tournament has been held in Daytona Beach, San Diego, Austin, and most recently, Cary, North Carolina and Surprise, Arizona.
