Location: New York City Midtown Hilton
Description: The headlines and studies are pervasive on the gap in women in alternatives despite the proven value to diversity. The goal of the Career Forum is to broaden the funnel of women into the alternatives industry and provide a setting where candidates can learn, engage, and network with industry veterans across the spectrum of careers. This will be the third time that the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE) has hosted the event and we expect 400+ attendees (approximately half candidates, half industry professionals).
The event will begin at 7:00 am and last until 2:30 pm and the format will consist of panels, roundtables, and an Expo where students can speak with companies currently looking to hire. Companies in attendance are expected to include private equity and venture capital firms, hedge funds, limited partners, investment banks, placement agents, and other firms within the alternatives industry.
Application: Interested scholars for the 2019 Career Access Forum need to apply to attend the forum. Students currently in undergraduate or graduate programs or those that have graduated in the prior 3 years are welcome to apply. The application period will be from August 19th – September 20th and candidates will be notified by October 7th if they have been accepted. Candidates can apply via the “Events” section on the WAVE’s website.
Fee: There is not expected to be a charge to participate although WAVE reserves the right to charge a $50 no-show fee if a candidate indicates they will attend the forum and does not show.
Travel Costs: WAVE expects to be able to provide a number of shared hotel rooms and travel scholarships for students traveling from outside New York City. Preference may be given for candidates who apply earlier in the application period.
Apply by Oct. 15
