A Letter from the Director
Dear Honors Alumni and Friends of the Honors Program,
Welcome to our annual Honors Alumni Newsletter!
In this issue, we bring you up to date about several exciting ventures in Honors. We look back to the past in our feature about Interdisc, which is celebrating forty years of forming the minds of our talented students. The heart of Honors is life-changing encounters between great faculty and students, and in this issue we highlight Professor Cathy Staples, a cherished member of the Honors community for many years. We also celebrate the achievements of our students who have won prestigious fellowships in the past academic year. In addition, the first group of students enrolled in our new Global Scholars Programs are abroad. As you can see from their blog posts and pictures, they’re having exciting, adventurous, and academically-rigorous experiences. We also bring you our annual features on our Senior Thesis writers and some recommended reading from an Honors faculty member.
As always, we invite you to join our Alumni Linked In group if you have not already done so, and to become an Alumni Mentor to our current students.
I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with you at upcoming events. I hope this message finds you and your families well.
