The Summer Undergraduate Internship Program is designed to provide an intense research experience to students interested in graduate study in the biomedical sciences. Each intern is matched with a faculty mentor from the Biomedical Graduate Studies program at the University of Pennsylvania. Interns participate in the ongoing research of the investigator's laboratory and perform a specific, supervised research project related to the goals of the laboratory.

  • 10 full-time weeks of laboratory research
  • Attend Leadership Alliance National Symposium
  • Present research at the SUIP Research Symposium at the end of the program
  • Career counseling sessions delivered by faculty and administrators
  • Competitive stipend, on-campus housing, and round-trip transportation costs are provided
  • Eligibility
    • Preference is given to applicants who will have completed their sophomore or junior year
    • Graduating seniors are not elligible
