The St. Thomas of Villanova Scholars (STOVS) program is a three-week summer program from Wednesday, July 5- Sunday, July 23, 2023, where invited incoming freshmen begin their college career. During STOVS, students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with college level courses, connect with University faculty and administrators, and meet some of their new best friends. The program will be virtual instead of residential this year but will still have the same benefits.
During this summer program, students take a 3-credit Augustine and Culture Seminar (ACS) class, a 3-credit Economics (ECO) course, or a 3-credit Philosophy (PHI) course (based on major selection and committee recommendation). In addition to the ACS, ECO, or PHI course, STOVS also take a non-credited mathematics course, in preparation for the college-level math required by their major and college.
Throughout the three-week program, students meet and work with professional counselors and campus leaders to get a jump start on their college career. Through one-on-one meetings, students will begin to identify and work towards their academic, social, and career goals. Students are invited to apply to the STOVS program in early May, after submitting their deposit to attend Villanova University. Selection to participate in the program is competitive and highly selective.
St. Thomas of Villanova Scholars Program Application is due by Tuesday June, 6 at 5 p.m. Students should submit all application materials including the information sheet.
