The table below provides information on new and revised policies over a rolling one-year period. Members of the Title IX Policy Committee including the University Compliance Office, Office of the General Counsel, Provost’s Office, Dean of Students Office, Student Life, Public Safety, Office of Health Promotion, Law School and Athletics review the policy annually and as needed throughout the year.  Edits to the 2020-21 policy include additional or clarifying language in sections I, II.A, II.B, IV, IV.A, IV.B, IV.E, and IV.I as well as an update to: information on supportive measures in Appendix B; Title IX Notice in Appendix C; and prevention and education efforts outlined in Appendix D.

Reporting Foreign Gifts and Contracts Policy

Processing Credit Card Payments Taken by Department

Bursar’s Office

Revised May 20, 2020

Revisions include that the Bursar's Office will no longer accept instances of individual credit card payments where credit card and other personal identifiable information needs to be obtained from the cardholder and then provided to the Bursar's Office in order to process the payment.

This policy was formerly entitled Cash Reimbursements and outlines requirements for the issuance and reconciliation of travel advances for individual employees and large student groups (e.g. Campus Ministry and other service groups).

Minors in Villanova University Programs Policy

Revisions to the policy included updates to reflect the new online minors programs registration system utilizing Salesforce, updates to education and training requirements, and recent revisions to PA law regarding the availability of the provisional employment affidavit.

The purpose of the Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM) is to maintain pest populations below action threshold levels while ensuring minimal human exposure to health risks, inflicting minimal hazards on the environment, providing for effective monitoring through inspections and standardized recordkeeping, and evaluating the effectiveness of the IPM practices.

This policy provides information on the University’s indoor air quality (IAQ) program.  The objectives of the program are to maintain indoor air quality within acceptable levels according to consensus guidelines, prevent illness and adverse symptoms associated with poor indoor air quality, respond to indoor air quality complaints and make recommendations for improvement.

Student Leave of Absence Policy

The prior Student Medical Leave of Absence policy has been revised into the Student Leave of Absence policy covering both medical and non-medical leaves, including involuntary leaves and military leaves. The revised policy also sets forth an appeal process for certain leave-related decisions. The purpose of this policy is to identify the procedures and student responsibilities for going on and returning from leaves of absences from programs of study.

Financial Conflict of Interest in Research

Recent revisions to the policy reflect changes to Villanova’s research organizational structure:  both Directors of the Office of Research Protections and the Office of Grants and Contracts are members of the Financial Conflict of Interest in Research Committee. Members of regulatory committees that support research, the IRB, the IACUC, and the IBC, will need to complete conflict of interest disclosure forms. Travel that meets certain regulatory thresholds, including travel sponsored by foreign governments and institutions, must be disclosed. Changes to conform to the revised policy were made concurrently to the COI Risk Manager system for the electronic submission of conflict of interest disclosures. Concurrently, changes were made to the COI Risk Manager system.
