You are part of a challenging four-year program of high academic quality, taking designated courses in the humanities and sciences with other undergraduate majors. Your career preparation lays the foundation for a seamless transition into graduate education. You may wish to participate in the University’s Honors Program, work with your advisor to take graduate courses as an undergraduate student, or join a University learning community – innovative educational environments merging academic, co-curricular and social aspects of life.

Become an inspiration through your global perspective

Study for your global health minor. If you wish to study abroad, and have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0, you may take your sophomore year at the University of Manchester in England which fulfills the courses required for that year. You may also participate in summer abroad programs available to all Villanova students or minor in another field, such as Spanish, bioengineering or global health, as above (coordinated through our Center for the Study of Global and Public Health).  There are other opportunities for international clinical electives for credit, and national or international study as part of the parent-child health and health promotion courses. These international and multicultural opportunities develop your global health awareness. You also have an opportunity to interact with fellow students studying with us from other parts of the world, enriching your educational experience.

Become a student engaged in the research process

You are exposed to faculty who are leaders in their field and research topics that advance the science of nursing. Coordinated by our Center for Nursing Research, students have participated in the research process, presented scientific papers and posters at professional conferences and published scholarly articles in conjunction with faculty on such topics as social relationships in adolescents with autism, nursing care of people with disabilities and comfort in pediatric oncology patients.
