Practical Skills Workshop for NPs

Join other Nurse Practitioners in a state-of-the-art simulation center for this hands-on workshop designed for APRNs.  Practice skills needed to manage frequently encountered primary care (and Urgen Care / ED Fast Track) problems such as:

  • Basic extremity radiology and splinting 
  • Fish hook removal, digital block, abscess I & D 
  • Finger and toenail removal, paronychia management and ring removal 
  • Subungual hematoma release and arthrocentesis 
  • Wound assessment and management 
  • Practice three different suturing techniques: simple interrupted, running and mattress stitches 
  • Fluorescein stain and Tonopen use 

Acquiring these advanced practice competencies enhances your repertoire, increases your marketability and offers continuing education contact hours required for the Emergency NP Certification. Enrollement is limited in order to optimize the experience.
