Villanova University School of Law’s Center for Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation will host a lecture on Crowdfunding on October 23.This is the first event of the Center's Financing Growth Business Lecture Series.
Crowdfunding— Internet-based financing that involves ordinary investors— is changing the way entrepreneurs raise capital for their growing businesses. Join us for an interactive session with legal expert Yoel Kranz as he discusses the various ways to raise money that are permissible under current rules, and what may be coming soon.
Kranz is a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Real Estate Capital Markets Group and a member of its Crowdfunding Practice. He advises public and private companies in corporate mergers and acquisitions, represents a diverse group of corporate issuers of securities, both public and private, and serves as ongoing corporate and securities counsel for public companies, including numerous REITs. He is a member of the adjunct faculty at The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, Columbia Business School and a lecturer in law at Columbia Law School. During the 2010-2011 semester, Kranz was a guest lecturer at Tel Aviv University Law School, teaching coursework in U.S. mergers and acquisitions practice. Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Kranz was a corporate associate in the New York and London offices of Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
