Great Expectations

Allison MacDonald, VLS '10

Allison MacDonald '10 was able to attend Villanova University School of Law (VLS)—her first choice—thanks to a Dean’s Merit Scholarship, made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends who gave to the annual fund. A stand-out student while at VLS, she served on the Villanova Law Review, externed with Judge Marjorie Rendell ’73 of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and graduated summa cum laude.

“I see now that the value of my scholarship is not just the dollar amount, which made it possible for me to attend Villanova, but what it signifies—that great things are expected of me and that I have the ability to deliver,” said MacDonald. Upon graduation, MacDonald joined the prestigious firm of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City, where she specializes in executive compensation and benefits.
