Joe Banner

Mr. Banner was the Team President of Philadelphia Eagles, LLC (also known as The Philadelphia Eagles) since 2001 and served as its Chief Operating Officer until 2012. Mr. Banner oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Philadelphia Eagles franchise since 1994. Mr. Banner then served as Chief Executive Officer at Cleveland Browns, LLC until he was hired by the Atlanta Falcons in December of 2014 as Front Office Consultant. He has long been known as one of the NFL’s top executives. He serves as the Co-chair of City Year Philadelphia’s Board of Directors. He also serves as a Trustee of City Year, Inc. He has been a Director of Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce since October 2011. Mr. Banner is actively involved in his community, having formed the nationally acclaimed Eagles Youth Partnership. Mr. Banner received his B.A. in Economics from Denison University.

Adam Berger ’10 is a partner in the corporate practice group at Duane Morris LLP, a member of the firm's governing partners board and a member of the gaming industry group. Mr. Berger represents public and private companies involved in all facets of the gaming industry in a broad variety of corporate and regulatory matters.

Mr. Berger has extensive experience representing casinos, casino holding companies and gaming equipment manufacturers, as well as financial institutions including banks, private equity funds and hedge funds in connection with mergers and acquisitions, debt transactions, licensing, compliance matters and regulatory investigations. Additionally, Mr. Berger has represented clients in competitive licensing contests before various gaming agencies. Mr. Berger regularly advises clients on emerging developments and legislation affecting the brick-and-mortar and Internet gaming industries.

Outside of the traditional casino space, Mr. Berger has advised traditional gaming companies, media companies, professional sports teams and financial institutions on matters related to the rapidly expanding sports wagering industry in the United States. Mr. Berger has also represented numerous companies involved in the fantasy sports and skill-based gaming industries.

As the immediate past chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Gaming Law Committee and a former chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Casino Law Section, Mr. Berger is a frequent speaker on gaming industry expansion, online gaming and sports betting across the country. Mr. Berger was named to Global Gaming Business Magazine's "40 Under 40" list in 2017.

Mr. Berger is a 2010 cum laude graduate of Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and a 2007 magna cum laude graduate of The George Washington University.

Richard Berthelsen

Mr. Berthelsen served as General Counsel of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). He has been with the NFLPA since 1972. During his time with the NFLPA he also served as Interim Executive Director. He received a B.S. and J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

David Blitzer

Mr. Blitzer is Co-Managing Owner of the Philadelphia 76ers.  In addition, Mr. Blitzer is Senior Managing Director and Head of Tactical Opportunities for the Blackstone Group, a global investment and advisory firm. Mr. Blitzer is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Tom Condon

Mr. Condon is an agent and head of the Football Division of Creative Artists Agency. Sporting News has recognized Mr. Condon as the most powerful agent in football. He represents over seventy-five current NFL players. His clients have included Peyton and Eli Manning, Marvin Harrison, Adrian Peterson, Matthew Stafford, and Drew Brees to name a few. He was president of the National Football League Players Association from 1984-1986. Mr. Condon did his undergraduate studies at Boston College, and he received a J.D. from the University of Baltimore.

David Cornwell

Mr. Cornwell is currently partner in the Sports, Media, and Entertainment practice of Gordon & Rees, LLP. Additionally, he was recently appointed as Executive Director of the National Football League Coaches Association. Moreover, he has served as a Legal Analyst for ESPN. Past clients include Howie Long, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, and John Starks to name a few. Mr. Cornwell is a graduate of Tufts University and Georgetown University Law.

Roger Cossack

Mr. Cossack is a Legal Analyst for ESPN. Mr. Cossack previously worked as an on-air legal commentator for CNN. While at CNN he was co-host of the award-wining Burden of Proof. He has covered court appearances by O.J. Simpson, Michael Vick, and Kobe Bryant. Mr. Cossack is a graduate of UCLA and UCLA School of Law.

Aileen Daly

 

Ms. Daly is General Counsel for the Philadelphia Eagles. She joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007 as Director of Legal Affairs before being promoted to General Counsel in 2010. Prior to joining the Eagles, Ms. Daly worked at Proskauer Rose LLP as a corporate associate. Her clients included the New York Jets, National Basketball Association, New Jersey Devils, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia Eagles to name a few. Ms. Daly received a B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from Tulane Law School.

 

Warrick Dunn

Mr. Dunn is a former NFL running back. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 1997 draft. He played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2002-2007 before returning to the Buccaneers in 2008. He played collegiately for Florida State University where won a National Championship in 1993. Today, Mr. Dunn is now a part owner of the Atlanta Falcons. He is also the founder of Warrick Dunn Charities, an organization that provides support to single parents.

Bob DuPuy

Mr. DuPuy has been involved with Major League Baseball (MLB) since 1989 as outside legal counsel. He most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the MLB from 2002 through 2010. ­Mr. DuPuy is also partner at Foley & Lardner, LLP. Mr. DuPuy has been bestowed with the rating of AV Preeminent, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review rating system, in recognition of his superior professional ethics. Mr. DuPuy received an A.B. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.

Ashley Fox

Ms. Fox is an NFL columnist for ESPN. Prior to joining ESPN, Ms. Fox was a writer and columnist at the Philadelphia Inquirer covering the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Gary Gertzog

Mr. Gertzog joined the NFL in 1994, as Vice President and General Counsel of NFL Properties, Inc.  In that role, Mr. Gertzog has been involved in new business models and deal structures for the NFL, including the NFL Master Agreement (distributing intellectual property rights between the NFL and Member Clubs), as well as sponsorship and internet agreements with NFL Players Association/Players Inc and various apparel, video game, credit card, beverage and telecommunication products and services. Mr. Gertzog has also led the NFL’s efforts in important litigation matters including the protection of the intellectual property rights of the NFL and Member Clubs. Prior to joining the NFL, Gary was a partner at a New York City law firm.  Gary is a 1983 graduate of George Washington University Law School where he was a member of the Law Review.  He obtained a B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1980.  Gary was also selected as a “40 under 40” by Crain’s New York Business and Corporate Counsel Magazine.

Barry Hanrahan

Mr. Hanrahan currently serves as Assistant General Manager of the Philadelphia Flyers.  He joined the Flyers in 1997 serving as Director of Team Services and Assistant Director to the General Manager. Prior to joining the Flyers, Mr. Hanrahan spent six years with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Hanrahan is a graduate of Florida Southern College and Widener University School of Law.

Sally Jenkins

Ms. Jenkins is a sports columnist for The Washington Post. Ms. Jenkins previously served as Senior Writer for Sports Illustrated. In addition, Ms. Jenkins has authored nine books. Three books, including It’s Not about the Bike: My Journey Back to Life on Lance Armstrong, were New York Times Best Sellers.  In 1986 Ms. Jenkins was nominated for a Pulitzer Price for her stories on the death of college All-American, Len Bias. Ms. Jenkins is a graduate of Standard University.

Ingrid Petri '02 VSB is a Vice President at AEG Worldwide as a key member of the Global Partnerships’ sales team responsible for driving innovative business solutions for new partners and growing strategic relationships with companies investing across the full scope of AEG’s portfolio.  Petri focuses on building multi-property, deals with major brands that span all facets of AEG’s sports and live entertainment business.

Petri brings with her more than two decades worth of experience in sales, brand development, and experiential marketing having held senior leadership roles across major sports leagues, teams, and media companies. Prior to joining AEG, she spent eight years with the National Basketball Association (NBA) as Associate Vice President of Business Development and Global Partnerships. While there, she oversaw business development and built brand partnerships for the NBA and its portfolio of leagues including the Women’s National Basketball Association, the NBA 2K League, G League and USA Basketball. Her experience and ingenuity added significant value to the NBA and resulted in the closing of notable first-of-their-kind deals with Coinbase, Clorox, Mondelez, and ServiceNow, among many others.

Petri also managed business development and partnerships for the National Football League (NFL) and has extensive experience across the media landscape. Having previously worked for NBC News Networks, Sports Illustrated Property Sales and as the Head of Sports Advertising Sales at DirecTV, she has a track record of success securing sizable deals across numerous categories with leading blue-chip brands. 

Petri started her career in sports with stints at the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles and is a proud alumnus of Villanova University School of Business where she majored in marketing and earned a BS in Business Administration. 

Ed Rendell

Mr. Rendell is Special Counsel at Ballard Spahr, LLP. Mr. Rendell was partner at Ballard Spahr LLP prior to serving as Governor of Pennsylvania from 2003-2011. During this time he was Chair of the National Governor Association from 2008-2009. He also served two terms as Mayor of Philadelphia from 1992-2000. Mr. Rendell began his career working for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office where he worked his way to Chief of Homicide in 1972 and was elected District Attorney in 1977 and 1981. Mr. Rendell received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law.

Harvey Schiller

Mr. Schiller is currently CEO and Chairman of the Board at GlobalOptions Group, Inc, an international risk management and business solutions company. Mr. Schiller was previously Chairman and CEO of YankeeNets, a sports-based media company. In addition, he was Vice President of sports programming for Turner Broadcasting System. He was also President of the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL. Mr. Schiller did his undergraduate studies at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. He received his master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Michigan.

Ken Shropshire

Mr. Shropshire is Special Counsel at Duane Morris LLP and Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a consultant for the NFL. He also serves as an arbitrator for the NFLPA and USA Track and Field. He has written several books on sports law including, Agents of Opportunity: Sports Agents and Corruption in Collegiate Sports and The Business of Sports Agents. Mr. Shropshire did his undergraduate studies at Stanford University and received a J.D. from Columbia University.

Carl Sottosanti

Carl Sottosanti served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Penn National Gaming, Inc. (NASDAQ: PENN), a $5.5 billion revenue company with 42 gaming facilities in 20 jurisdictions, a growing online gaming/media business and a $17 billion market cap. Carl joined Penn in May 2003 and focused primarily on M & A, gaming development opportunities, corporate governance, commercial transactions, compliance and labor/employment. The legal department at Penn is responsible for all company legal, compliance and risk management matters. The recent Barstool Sports and Pinnacle Entertainment acquisitions are among the many large transaction he led at Penn.

Carl also served as Corporate Secretary at Penn.  In that role, he coordinated Board activity as well as Committee responsibilities (Audit, Compliance, Compensation and Corporate Governance). In connection with his work on the Annual Proxy and other governance matters, Carl regularly engaged with institutional shareholders and directors on complex topics (including ESG, activist shareholders and executive compensation) and helped achieve highly successful votes on all company proposals. In terms of gaming compliance matters, Carl established close relationships with regulators in all of the Company’s jurisdictions, facilitating prompt and practical resolution of difficult regulatory and business issues. Carl also led the placement of the Company’s D and O and Property insurance policies with a creative approach that included multiple international markets and prudent use of self insurance.

Prior to joining Penn, Carl worked at two other public companies (GC at Sanchez Computer Associates, a leading international banking software company and Salient Three Communication, a diversified telecom company). He began his career with a large Philadelphia law firm. Carl has extensive teaching and lecturing experience on gaming and business law topics.  Carl graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and he received his JD from Villanova University School of Law, where he was an Editor on the Law Review and graduated cum laude. Both of Carl’s daughters graduated from the Villanova School of Business.

In addition to the Moorad Center Board of Advisors, Carl currently sits on the advisory board of a number of gaming and technology start ups and the Executive Committee Board of the Berks County YMCA.

Mike Stiles

 

Mr. Stiles is the Senior Vice President of Administration and Operations for the Philadelphia Phillies. He oversees operations of Citizens Bank Park and personnel policies for the entire organization. Before joining the Phillies, Mr. Stiles was U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and Common Pleas Court Judge. Mr. Stiles received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.

 

Brian Westbrook

 

A Villanova University graduate, Mr. Westbrook was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002. During his eight years with the team, he was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2004 and 2007. Mr. Westbrook then spent one year with the San Francisco 49ers. A standout while a member of Villanova’s football team, he is one of the most decorated players in the NCAA Division I-AA history. Mr. Westbrook was honored with the Walter Payton Award in 2001. Currently, he is a member of CBS’s Fantasy Football Today team and is involved with Brian’s Blessings, an organization established to help local less fortunate children.

Christopher Moorad

Mr. Moorad is currently a student at The Bishop’s School. He in an honors student and a member of the school’s water polo team. In addition, he is active in several community service projects in the San Diego area.
