Information for Graduate Assistants and Resident Assistants

All Graduate Assistants and Resident Assistants are required to complete the PA Act 153 Clearance Requirements below:

1) Child Abuse Clearances from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services;

2) Fingerprint-based Federal criminal history submitted to the FBI;

3) PA State Police Clearance (completed on your behalf by Villanova University Human Resources upon your submission of the Clearances Authorization form).

Frequently Asked Questions

I have clearances from a previous volunteer opportunity; can I submit those in lieu of completing new ones?

Human Resources can accept clearances completed for employment purposes and issued by the Department of Human Services only. If you have questions or are unsure if your clearances are acceptable, please contact clearances@villanova.edu. 

It has been over three weeks since I have been fingerprinted on-campus and I have not received my results in the mail yet. Where should I follow up?

You can check on the status or request a new certified copy of your clearance by calling the Department of Human Services: 1-877-371-5422. Press 1 to speak to a representative. Please confirm with DHS that they have the correct address for you on record.

Where do I bring my clearances once they are completed?

You may deliver your Clearances to the front desk of Human Resources during our business hours Monday - Friday between 9 am - 5 pm. If you are unable to visit our office in person, you may mail them to our below address:

Villanova does not receive copies of the FBI Fingerprint Clearance (printed on blue paper) from our vendor, IdentoGO, so you must submit your original results to Human Resources. We do not accept copies or scans through email or fax.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report contains information about Villanova University's security policies and procedures and crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years. A hard copy is also available upon request through Villanova's Department of Human Resources; contact us at 610-519-7900 if you would like to request a copy.
