Research and Facilities: Electrical and Computer Engineering

Undergraduate research activities in Electrical and Computer Engineering include:

  • Year-long ECE Engineering senior “capstone design” project.*
  • University-funded undergraduate research projects (Villanova Undergraduate Research Fellows).
  • Summer research fellowships funded by sponsored projects.
  • Summer research opportunities with faculty.

Students interested in research opportunities are encouraged to speak with their advisor.

*The capstone senior design project covers three semesters and involves student teams working on a variety of real world problems. The top student design teams present their results to the faculty and industrial visitors during ECE Day.

Work alongside faculty, graduate students and fellow undergraduates in the department’s instructional laboratories and research facilities:

Primary research areas:

Computer systems
Digital systems design
