Girl Scouts Day - Engineering at Villanova
"Girls in Mechanical Engineering Day brings Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes from grades 5 through 8 to Villanova for a day of hands-on engineering activities", including Solar Energy, Water Distribution, Bioengineering, and Nanotechnology.
Dr. Feng is the instructor for the Nanotechnology activity. He has demonstrated the power of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to see features at the nanoscale. In the activity, the girls also competed on building a "nano-pyramid" using golf-balls to understand the close-packed structure.
