WELCOME TO THE ENERGY ACCESS WORKSHOP

This two-day workshop brings together engineering educators who engage undergraduate students in curricular, co-curricular, or extra-curricular humanitarian engineering (HE) activities centered on electricity access. The overarching goal of the workshop is to enhance and expand undergraduate engineering courses and activities on electricity access.

OVERVIEW

This first-of-its-kind workshop convenes 25 electricity access educators and stakeholders from industry, governmental, and non-governmental organizations over two days to:

  • Inventory the state of electricity access education at the undergraduate level;
  • Share best practices and resources in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities;
  • Identify gaps and challenges in enhancing and expanding electricity access education;
  • Discuss and debate urgent and emerging topics such as risk management and ethical development practices;
  • Provide opportunities for educators to network together and with stakeholders;
  • Hear and discuss electricity access education perspectives from stakeholders.
