Mechanical Engineering Senior Capstone Design Projects

Senior design projects reflect real-world challenges. Some are focused on the needs of our international service project partners, while others are sponsored by industry. Work is conducted in the College’s Multidisciplinary Design Lab.

Recent projects have included:

  • 3-D underwater mapping with stereo sonar (Harris Corporation)
  • Expansion of natural gas from a pipeline (Air Products)
  • Autonomous drone for collecting water samples (United Technologies Inc.)
  • Stairway pressurization system design (Jaros, Baum & Bolles)
  • Primary electric hybrid all-wheel drive motorcycle (Christini Technologies)
  • Water utility operations and data acquisition (Catholic Relief Services, Madagascar)
  • Unexploded ordnance remediation (Golden West Humanitarian Foundation, Cambodia)
