Villanova University is recognized for its commitment to women in engineering with national enrollment and faculty statistics well above the national averages. In 2017, the College ranked #10 in the nation for percentage of female tenure-track/tenured faculty, and in 2018, Women Engineer magazine listed us among the top 50 universities for fostering diversity and inclusion.
A number of initiatives have helped propel the College forward in this regard, including,
- Bringing talented women faculty on board so female students can “see themselves” here
- Outreach programs for girls in 4th-12th grade to generate interest in engineering
- Focusing on teaching methods that address a variety of learning styles
