A Message from Associate Dean German

Dean German

I invite you to explore the many exciting opportunities that are available to VSB students….from learning communities during first year and sophomore year, to an integrated curriculum, to study abroad programs, to leadership opportunities and beyond. As a member of the Villanova community, you will be faced with endless opportunities to challenge yourself and to grow…intellectually, socially and emotionally.

VSB’s undergraduate curriculum focuses on four key pillars of business knowledge: a global mindset, innovation, ethics, and technology and analytics. It incorporates fresh approaches to team teaching, executive-level guest speakers, multidisciplinary hands-on projects, and a cutting-edge curriculum - including a new data analytics co-major - all designed to enrich your learning experience and help you prepare for future success. Our classes are small and students are taught by faculty, not graduate assistants.

And from your first day in our comprehensive first-year Business Dynamics class, you will begin to think about and prepare for life after VSB. Backpack-to-Briefcase, a unique professional development program, begins in the Business Dynamics class and continues through senior year, providing student with leadership skills and career insights. So you will be ready when graduation sneaks up on you!

We are here to support you as you navigate your collegiate journey. The Clay Center at VSB and the O’Donnell Center for Professional Development is dedicated to providing superb student services including academic advising, internships search strategies, major selection, and study abroad support.

VSB students graduate ready to enter the global business community as successful leaders and team players, capable of making solid, independent choices for the good of their companies and for the good of society as a whole.

I strongly encourage you to visit in person…meet our faculty, our students, and our staff. Discover the community that is Villanova. I welcome your questions and would be delighted to hear from you.

Ignite Change! Go Nova!

With warmest regards,

Melinda German
