Dr. Pankaj Patel named The Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Family Endowed Chair in Strategy and Innovation

VILLANOVA, Pa., February 26, 2016Pankaj Patel, PhD, joined the Management & Operations department as an Associate Professor and was recently given the distinctive honor of serving as the inaugural Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Family Endowed Chair in Strategy and Innovation.

Dr. Patel will mentor Villanova’s budding entrepreneurs and leaders, and will be actively involved in promoting the connection of theory to practice through research, leadership and community outreach. As part of his role, Dr. Patel will create interdisciplinary courses, programs, and learning opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students while contributing to global discourse on strategy and innovation.

Dr. Patel comes to VSB after teaching as an associate professor of management at the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. He has made technology and governance his primary area of research, with operations in new ventures being a secondary area of study. In addition to being published in a multitude of research journals, Dr. Patel has successfully founded two high-tech firms and is currently involved with two high-tech startups.

As the newly named Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Family Endowed Chair in Strategy and Innovation, Dr. Patel will continue to enhance the quality of scholarship, instruction, and leadership within and beyond Villanova.
