Villanova, PA, May 21, 2013 – Ronald P. Hill, PhD, the Richard J. and Barbara Naclerio Endowed Chair in Business, won the 2013 Allan N. Nash Distinguished Doctoral Graduate Award from The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. The award recognizes one Smith School PhD alumnus annually for outstanding research and teaching, as well as significant service contributions.

Dr. Hill attended Maryland as an undergraduate, and was invited into the graduate program by one of his professors, ultimately earning an MBA and a PhD. “Since then, I have worked hard to live up to the University of Maryland’s ideals of research and teaching,” said Dr. Hill. “I am humbled to receive this honor since so many world-class scholars have graduated over the years.”

Dr. Hill has received a number of recognitions for his excellent work in the field of marketing. In 2012, he won the Williams-Qualls-Spratlen (WQS) Multicultural Mentoring Award of Excellence, which recognizes outstanding marketing scholars and career mentors of multicultural students and junior colleagues. Dr. Hill was also recognized in 2012 for “outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the marketing profession and for being an exemplary model for all those who will follow in your footsteps," by the “PhD Project,” a consortia of mostly Fortune 500 firms that come together to fund minority doctoral candidates in each of the business professions. Dr. Hill also received Villanova University’s Outstanding Faculty Research Award in 2012, and won the 2010 Richard W. Pollay Prize from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, a lifetime achievement award given annually to recognize intellectual excellence in the study of marketing in the public interest.
