Colin Lowry

Undergraduate University: Villanova University

Undergraduate Major: Accounting and Finance

Graduation Date: May 2019

Internship or Previous Work Experience: I've had 2 summer internships in Audit & Assurance at Deloitte and I worked as a Business Intern at the SEC prior to that.

Favorite Philadelphia, Main Line or Villanova Activity: Going to a Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park

Why did you choose the Villanova MACDA: Going to undergrad at Villanova, I loved the community aspect and I really enjoyed getting to know the faculty at VSB. I wanted to continue my education to receive the 150 credit hours necessary to become a CPA and Villanova still felt like a perfect fit.

Goals or plans for career after graduation from Villanova: Following graduation, I have accepted a full-time offer to return to Deloitte where I'll be continuing in the Audit practice. I also hope to complete my CPA requirements to help further my career in accounting.

Goals or plans for career after graduation from Villanova: Plan to work as a consulting associate with RSM in Miami, Florida; goals include working with RSM for several years, transitioning to Church accounting (and assisting in the large-scale implementation of modern accounting software and methodologies), and teaching.

Danielle Laurenti

Undergraduate University: Marist College

Undergraduate Major: Accounting

Graduation Date: May 2019

Hometown: Smithtown, New York

Internship or Previous Work Experience: The Office of the New York City Comptroller this past summer as an asset management intern. I served on the IOS (investment operations support) team which was responsible for the oversight of the accounting and reporting of the investment portfolios of the five NYC Retirement Pension Plans

In addition, I worked for Marks Paneth LLP in New York City as an advisory intern where I took part in performing business valuations. Prior to that, I served as an audit intern for Cerini & Associates LLP in Long Island in the summer of 2018.

Favorite Philadelphia, Main Line or Villanova Activity: Attending the sports games at Villanova and in Philly!

Why did you choose the Villanova MACDA: The strong relationships the faculty and staff, as well as the business school has with the Big Four accounting firms. The small classroom feel, which is similar to my undergraduate experience.

Goals or plans for career after graduation from Villanova: I plan to start my career in the big four and then eventually migrate towards the public sector, financial services or the fashion industry as an accountant.

Chris Sheldon

Favorite Philadelphia, Main Line or Villanova Activity: Going to Villanova Basketball games to cheer on the Wildcats!

Why did you choose the Villanova MACDA: I chose to continue my education with the Villanova MACDA because analytics is the future of the accounting profession. This program really places a strong emphasis on data analytics. It was essential for me to get a jump-start on learning these concepts so that I could excel in the workplace.

Goals or plans for career after graduation from Villanova: After graduating from Villanova, I plan on working either as an auditor or as a forensic accountant. I also plan to pursue my CPA and I am confident that the MACDA will help prepare me for the rigors of the CPA exams.
