Case Competitions

Case Competitions

The Center for Business Analytics aims to support students in these endeavors as they emerge. We will invite students to participate as we become aware of any new and relevant competitions.

The Pitt Business Analytics Case Competition is offered in partnership with the David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership and platinum sponsor DICK'S Sporting Goods. The national analytics-driven business strategy challenge requires undergraduate students to use data analysis techniques to solve pressing issues in the retail space, and to provide recommendations to a panel of judges.

Students enrolled at undergraduate business schools from across the United States are encouraged to apply for the competition. Teams must include between three to five students.

INFORMS O.R. & Analytics Student Team Competition

INFORMS O.R. & Analytics Student Team Competition

The INFORMS OR & Analytics Student Team Competition is open to students enrolled in undergraduate and master’s degree programs anywhere in the world and teams may be made up of exclusively undergraduate or exclusively master’s level students, or a mix.

Teams from around the world compete during the annual INFORMS Business Analytics Conference in April.

INFORMS, the leading international association for professionals in operations research and analytics, introduced this competition in 2017 to highlight young talent and provide O.R. and analytics students the opportunity to solve the kinds of real-world workplace challenges they will face during their careers.
