What will you do at Hub of Hope?

Meal time is busy, people come in to eat a meal you serve and bus tables.  Hopefully you will have time to get to know the regular guests at Hub of Hope. ? Share an evening with people who are experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. You will have an opportunity to build relationships with the guests as you plate and serve meals.   Volunteers will set up tables on Friday to serve 150 meals, plate and serve meals and clean up.  Tables and Chairs will be folded and put away on Sunday.

Dialogue with “Muslim Serve.”   Muslim Serve is the organization who arranges for meals and volunteers at Hub of Hope.    We are hoping to set up dialogue about our motivation to serve with the Muslim Community who run the meal service at Hub of Hope and Villanova students. If you are in the God course or Theology course, Christians, Jews and Muslims or have an interest in interfaith dialogue this might be a particularly interesting site for you.  We hope to talk about why we serve, how faith tradition are influences our desire to serve and our hope for the world.

They will have counselors to work with people’s recovery from homelessness, health clinic and job resources.  See website for description of services.
