To break the cycle of generational poverty through time-intensive and holistic educational programs.
Sometimes we see the problems and sometimes we experience what works!
"INN DWELLING has been providing assistance to financially challenge youth since 1997 in the Germantown section of Philadelphia with academic tutoring, financial support, social and academic enrichment programs, SAT/ACT Prep and college counseling. We depend on our volunteer tutors to mentor our highly motivated students in preparation for their college application process to selected institutions".
Role of Volunteers: One on one and small group tutoring in Math, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Students who come to Inn Dwelling are highly motivated with a goal of attending a selective college or university. All the students who attend tutoring are here because they desire to improve their chances of being accepted into a demanding institution in a challenging major. The students have high expectations for the outcome of the tutoring and they must carry an A/B grade to stay in the tutoring program. Demographics: Low income-African American, Hispanic and Asian American with 30% new American
