Gamma Kappa Alpha is a national honor society that recognizes scholastic performance in coursework in Italian language, literature, and culture. 

New members are inducted each spring.

Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for membership:

At least two Italian courses beyond the intermediate level completed or in the process of completion
A grade point average of 3.0 or above in Italian
Strong overall academic performance in other coursework

Members are honored in an annual induction ceremony and wear cords at graduation that testify to their achievement.
