Requirements

Following are the naval science course requirements for the NROTC Program. Please also see the physical reqirements.

Navy Option

Navy Option Midshipmen are required to complete the following courses while enrolled in the NROTC program: 8 semesters of Naval Science, 2 semesters of Calculus, 2 semesters of Physics, 1 semester of American History/National Security Policy, and 1 semester of World Culture and Regional Studies.  Refer to Approved Course List to see which courses satisfy the requirements.  Naval Science courses are completed in the sequence listed below.

NS 1000 - Intro to Naval Science
NS 3100 - Navigation
NS 1100 - Seapower and Maritime Affairs
NS 4100 - Leadership and Management
Junior Year Senior Year
NS 2100 - Naval Ships Systems I
NS 3200 - Naval Operations
NS 2200 - Naval Ships Systems II
NS 4200 - Leadership and Ethics

Marine Option

Marine Option Midshipmen are required to complete the following courses while enrolled in the NROTC program: 6 semesters of Naval Science, 1 semester of American History/National Security Policy, and 1 semester of World Culture and Regional Studies.  Refer to Approved Course List pdf to see which courses satisfy the requirements. Naval Science courses are completed in the sequence listed below.
