CLAS Dean’s Advisory Council Member Timothy Mann Receives Highest Papal Honor

Villanova, PA—Timothy Mann P ’15, 18, ’21 a member of the Villanova University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council, has received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal. The papal honor is the highest medal that can be awarded to the Catholic laity by the Pope.

He was presented with the medal by The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge ’94 MA, Bishop of Arlington, Virginia, at a special ceremony held April 28 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Mann was recognized for his dedication and service to Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral, a Roman Catholic cathedral currently under construction in Raleigh which will serve as the site for major liturgical celebrations, pilgrimages and events for the Catholic community of eastern North Carolina. Bishop Burbidge, a former Bishop of Raleigh, worked closely with Mann on plans for the cathedral, which is expected to open in July 2017. 

Mann is Chief Operating Officer at North Carolina Subway Group. As a member of the College’s Dean’s Advisory Council, he assists the Dean on the College’s strategic initiatives. Mann and his wife, Kerry, who is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council, are the parents of three Villanovans—one alumna, a current undergraduate student and an incoming member of the class of 2021.
