What Math Class Do I Need?

Students should always consult with their academic advisors to ensure placement into the correct mathematics course.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

The Core Curriculum requirement for all students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is one course. 

Science majors and some others are required to take a two-semester sequence or more.

College of Engineering

The College of Engineering expects matriculating undergraduates to have a solid understanding of Calculus. For more information about these courses, please visit Calculus in the Math Major.  As always please consult your academic advisor when selecting your mathematics course.

 

Villanova School of Business

The Villanova School of Business, in general, expects matriculating students to complete Business Calculus (MAT 1400) and Business Statistics (MAT 1430). Students intending to complete a concentration in Applied Quantative Finance should have a solid understanding of Calculus.  Please visit Calculus in the Math Major for more information.   A VSB advisor can ensure you are selecting the correct course to meet your individual goals.

 

College of Nursing

The traditional Four Year BSN offered by M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing requires students complete MAT 1250.  As always please consult your academic advisor when selecting your mathematics course.

 

College of Professional Studies

The Core Curriculum for CPS requires six credits of Quantatiative/Scientific Literacy.  MAT 1260 helps to fullfill this requirement. As always please consult your academic advisor when selecting your mathematics course.
