HR Recertification Credits
Recertification Credits (HRCI & SHRM)
Our classes are approved for both HRCI and SHRM recertification credits: a 3-credit class is worth 30 recertification credits, and a 1-credit class is worth 10 credits.
Read about the classes offered in the HRD program here.
Our classes are scheduled in the evenings and are convenient for those working full time. On campus classes are scheduled from either 5:20-7:20pm or 7:30-9:30pm EST. Online courses are all scheduled from 8:30-10:30pm EST. All 3-credit on campus and online classes are scheduled once per week, Monday-Thursday, and run for 8 weeks at a time; 1.5-credit electives run for 4 weeks. You can view our semester schedule here.
How to Apply to Take Classes
If you are interested in applying to take HRD classes at Villanova, simply email Ashley Leamon, Assistant Director of Graduate Studies, to request an application to apply as a non-matriculated student. You must have successfully completed your bachelor's degree to enroll in these Master's level classes. You can choose to apply for the Master's Degree or a certificate program at a later time.
As a non-matriculated student, students can take up to 12 credits in graduate programs. HR professionals who are looking to stay up to date on current HR trends may choose to take classes in this status, as well as earning recertification credits for their certificate through HRCI or SHRM. Students can also choose to apply into one of our programs after taking classes as a non-matriculated student.
To apply, students must submit the non-matriculated application as well as official transcripts from the undergraduate institution.
