"The Master's program in History at Villanova challenged my intellectual boundaries and enabled me to strengthen my skills as an academic and a critical thinker. My education led to my development as a strong candidate entering the workforce. As a result, I am now employed at a global company."

Alumni of the History Masters Program may be found within and outside the walls of academia, in teaching, public history, college administration, and many other fields.
Many alumni have found that their History MA from Villanova greatly helps them fulfill their dream of pursuing a PhD in History. Recent graduates have entered the History PhD programs at the following institutions, usually with full funding: Rutgers-New Brunwick, CUNY, West Virginia University, Purdue University, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, the University of San Diego, Georgetown University, Brandeis University, Temple University, and the University of Delaware.
Others have turned their Masters into a career in public history, with positions at such institutions as the National Constitution Center, the National Park Service at Valley Forge, and the New-York Historical Society.
Villanova History Masters graduates also teach at a wide variety of institutions, from the Naval Academy to the University of Scranton, Ithaca College, Penncrest High School, and Atlantic Cape Community College. Others have administrative positions in higher education, such as Assistant Dean for Humanities and Social Sciences at Northampton Community College, and Director of Advancement Services with the University of Dallas.
Finally, graduates of our program may be found in law, library science, business, publishing, among other professions.
The diverse careers pursued by our alumni testify that there is life – and a future – after graduate school.
