EUKARYOTIC MOLECULAR BIOLOGY and MICROBIAL INTERACTIONS
Villanova University’s Department of Biology invites applications for two Tenure-Track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR positions, beginning August 2020. Research in the Department ranges from molecules to ecosystems and we seek individuals who complement existing strengths in the department. The successful candidate will establish a productive research program, integrate undergraduate and graduate students in their research, actively seek extramural funding, and contribute to the vibrant curriculum of the department at both the undergraduate and graduate (Master’s) levels. Candidates that use quantitative, modelling, bioinformatics, and/or genomics approaches in their research are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience is expected.
Eukaryotic Molecular Biology: Possible research areas include cancer biology, virology, parasitology, neurobiology, and other areas using modern molecular biological techniques. Will teach courses in molecular biology and in area of specialty. Review of applications will begin 15 September 2019 and will continue until position filled.
Microbial Interactions: Emphasis on microbial-plant/animal interactions; animal, plant or soil microbiomes; and/or functional, evolutionary, and ecological genomics. Will teach courses in microbiology and in area of subspecialty. Review of applications will begin 26 September 2019 and will continue until position filled.
