Undergraduate Programs

The BS in Biochemistry degree is ideal for the student who wishes to pursue an interdisciplinary degree with extensive study in both Chemistry and Biology.  The degree is offered as an interdisciplinary program between the Chemistry and Biology Departments and has been accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. With training in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, molecular biology and genetics, this degree is also an excellent preparation for medical school or graduate work in the health sciences. It also prepares students for graduate work in a wide range of fields including pharmaceutical science, forensic science, food science, neurobiology, and of course biochemistry and molecular biology. Read more about the degree requirements and suggested curriculum path for Biochemistry majors.  We also offer a minor in Biochemistry.  Finally, The Chemistry Department offers an American Chemical Society accredited degree that has a biochemistry emphasis.  Click here for a comparison of the two degrees.
