As Villanova prepares for 1842 Day—the University’s first-ever giving day—there are a few familiar faces behind the videos being crafted for this important initiative.
Villanova Loyalty Society members Sean Quinn ’00 COE, ’10 MBA and Enrique Mendoza ’00 COE, ’02 MS are the founders of Bowstring Studios—a production studio that produces content for national brands and agencies and has helped more than 10 Villanova departments on projects ranging from campaign videos to television commercials.
Sean and Enrique’s connection to Villanova goes back to their freshman year, when they met in St. Monica Hall. The two quickly bonded over their engineering coursework and their flair for creative projects. Enrique shot photography for the Belle Air Yearbook and Sean did freelance web design. After graduation, Sean started working and Enrique began his Master’s in Engineering; however, both had a desire to play to their creative talents and start something of their own.
In 2001, Aurora Imaging Company—now Bowstring Studios—was born. Villanova was their first client.
“It’s been great to work with Villanova for the past 20-plus years. We really just want the University to have the highest quality products,” Sean says.
Sean and Enrique also give back to their alma mater in many ways. In the past, they have sponsored the St. Thomas of Villanova Day of Service and the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Fall Festival. They have hosted Villanova interns and provided tours for students in the Social Justice Documentary class.
Sean and Enrique credit Villanova for preparing them to turn their passion into a career. “Our professors emphasized the importance of written and verbal communication, which are crucial to success,” said Sean. “Our coursework prepared us for the business world, as well, by challenging us to problem solve and work in teams.”
