Create Content Structure with Headings

Mark up your web content with the proper structural elements provided to you by the style options. Heading styles should be concise titles that serve as guides to navigate through the content, and not as decorative items. Using these heading styles for ‘decoration’ or using them out of sequence confuses text-readers and search engines, and frustrates the user trying to disseminate the information on the page.

Heading 1 – This will always be the Page Title and sets the tone and understanding for the content to follow. All other headings will be ‘within’ this one.

Heading 2 – This will be used for a main section on a webpage. There can be more than one.

Heading 3 – This will be a title that corresponds to a smaller section of content within the main H2 section.

Heading 4 – This will be used for an even smaller section of content that resides within an H3 section.
