TEXTBOOK ACCESS PROGRAM

The Villanova Textbook Access Program is aimed at providing Villanova students with affordable access to required course materials.

Beginning with the Fall 2025 semester, students will pay a standard $20 per credit enrolled fee for required textbook materials for courses, including textbook digital access codes. This approach allows Barnes & Noble College (BNC), our University bookstore partner, to purchase in bulk and better negotiate with its publishing partners.

The Villanova Textbook Access Program was implemented in 2024 following a thorough review by the Academic Policy Committee, SGA and Graduate Student Senate representatives, the Council of Deans and Executive Council.

Spring 2026

All students in credit-bearing courses (except The Law School, EMBA, Grad Tax, Study Abroad or personal enrichment) are automatically enrolled in the program. Students can opt out between December 13, 2025 and January 20, 2026 through the opt-out/opt-in portal.

Digital materials will be available in the LMS (Blackboard or Brightspace). If a course requires print materials, students must select pickup or mailing before they can receive them. One month before classes start, students will receive an email instructing them to select their delivery preference for print materials (in-store pickup or shipped directly to them). Students can visit the University Shop website to view the required materials for their courses.

For students only enrolled in spring 2026 semester courses that start after January 20,  please email the bookstore to opt out.
