Orientation VU101 Header

Dear Villanova University New Students and Families,

Welcome to Villanova! On behalf of our faculty, staff, current students, and alumni, we are thrilled to welcome you to our community. This message continues our Transfer101 emails to our newest Villanovans & their families as we prepare for your arrival and New Student Orientation.

Laptop Requirements by College
Each College (VSB, CLAS, Nursing, Engineering, CPS) has specific technical requirements expected of their students to be successful in the classroom. Please visit the University Information Technology (UNIT) website and select your College to see what is needed before you arrive on campus.

Student Health Record and COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement—submit ASAP
All new undergraduate students must upload their Student Health Record into Villanova’s secure portal——as soon as possible.

Incoming students are required to have completed the primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine, which includes two shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, or a single shot of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The University recommends that all new students also receive a COVID-19 booster, but a booster is not required at this time. The vaccine requirement applies to all new students who are enrolled in any in-person class for the 2022-23 academic year.

In the event that your primary series COVID-19 vaccine is not completed by July 1, 2022, upload your Student Health Record to Villanova’s portal as soon as the series is completed. Vaccine documentation will be part of each student’s health record through the Student Health Center. All documentation will be kept confidential.

Villanova Wildcard: July 10 Deadline
The Villanova University Wildcard is the official identification card for students that provides access to residence halls, dining, vending, library privileges, laundry, printing, sporting events, the University Bookstore, and much more. If you are a resident student, you will receive your Wildcard from your resident assistant on move-in day. If you are a commuter student, you will receive your Wildcard during Orientation. Visit the Wildcard website or enter “Wildcard photo” in myNova.

Tips from Our Student Chairperson: Hannah Murphy, CLAS ‘23
Try to take each day as it comes and not get caught up in planning your entire college journey. Instead, welcome new experiences and opportunities as they arise. Doing so will allow you to grow and embrace the amazing qualities that make you unique and learn new things about yourself along the way!

Additionally, take advantage of the wide variety of clubs, organizations and resources available on Villanova’s campus. Continue a hobby or interest from high school or pursue a new passion—let your interests and curiosity guide you! The Orientation program will familiarize you with a wide variety of resources, organizations and offices here to support you as you become a member of the Villanova community.

… lastly, as a practical piece of advice, don’t forget a raincoat or an umbrella!

Villanova University and New Student Orientation are looking forward to welcoming you to campus. If you have additional questions regarding Orientation, please contact us at, and follow us on Instagram at @NovaOrientation.
