June 1, 2022

Dear Villanova University Class of 2026 and Families,
Welcome to Villanova! On behalf of our faculty, staff, current students, and alumni, we are thrilled to welcome you to our community. This message begins the first of our weekly VU101 emails to the Class of 2026 as we prepare for your arrival and New Student Orientation.
2022 New Student Orientation Theme
“Curiosity Invites Possibilities; Where Will They Take You?” Rooted in our Augustinian Catholic values and desire to ignite change, each of you will help propel Villanova forward. We cannot wait for you to begin your journey.
Important Dates
New Student Orientation is scheduled for August 20-23, 2022, with move-in for residential students planned for Friday, August 19, 2022. Details regarding each day of Orientation are included below:

  • Move-In: Friday, August 19

You will receive information later this summer regarding arriving on campus to move into your residence hall. Packing, traveling, waiting in line, and unpacking can make it feel like an exceedingly long day. We encourage loved ones to stay overnight in the local area if they are traveling long distances.

  • Opening Day: Saturday, August 20 (for family members and students)

The morning of Opening Day can be spent getting settled, navigating the Villanova area, and taking placement tests, as necessary. At 1 p.m., the University Welcome begins our Orientation programming for students and family members, which ends with mass and a picnic. The picnic will conclude at 6:30 p.m., with students continuing with Orientation activities and family members departing from campus.

  • Orientation: Saturday Evening, August 20-Wednesday, August 23 (for students)

These four days will be spent in small groups, led by an Orientation Counselor, to help incoming students navigate their new surroundings and begin familiarizing themselves with campus life. Students attend events hosted by their academic deans, presentations regarding resources and campus life, and get to enjoy evening entertainment and participate in one of Villanova’s favorite traditions, the Commissioning Ceremony for the Class of 2026.

If you are not receiving our correspondence through your official villanova.edu account, please contact us via email at orientation@villanova.edu. We encourage you to check your Villanova email often and visit our frequently updated website, which contains helpful Orientation information and resources for you and your family.
