Residential Living

June 29, 2022

Villanova University and New Student Orientation will continue to send VU101 emails throughout the summer to keep you updated on important information and help prepare for your arrival. To view past emails, please visit the New Student Orientation website

Housing Assignments
First-year housing assignments and roommate information will be available the week of July 25. Students will receive a notification via their villanova.edu email address when housing assignments are available.

Move-In Arrival Times
Shortly after receiving housing assignments, students will be able to sign up for an arrival time on move-in day, Friday, August 19. Move-in is also available the morning of Saturday, August 20, for those unable to arrive on Friday. More details regarding move-in will follow later this summer.

What to Bring/What Not to Bring
Ahead of move-in day on Friday, August 19, please familiarize yourself on what to bring to campus, including items such as microfridges, carpeting, bath and linen needs, and other items to help make your room or apartment feel like home. It is equally important to read about what not to bring to campus, as well as securing insurance for your personal belongings. Please visit the Office for Residence Life website to learn more.

Room Accessories
The Office for Residence Life has partnered with the Villanova University Shop to offer students the opportunity to purchase room accessories. Items include carpets, bedding, shower and bath supplies, and desk accessories. Carpets purchased through the University Shop by Thursday, July 28, will be delivered to rooms before move-in, while items purchased after July 28 will be available for pick up during move-in at the tent located in front of the University Shop.

Mattresses
All first-year student residence halls include standard mattresses that measure 36x76x7. Residence Life has a limited supply of extra-long mattresses measuring 36x80x7 that are available upon request and based on need. Please note: requests for an extra-long mattress should be limited to individuals over 6'2" in height. These mattresses require extra-long twin-sized sheets. Students can request an extra-long mattress when they complete the housing application or by contacting the Office for Residence Life.

Microfridge
Residential students living in non-apartment/suite units can have a microwave and dorm-size refrigerator (3.0 cu. ft.) in their rooms. Students can choose to purchase their own unit or rent from myMicrofridge. Students who order a microfridge by Sunday, August 1, will have the unit delivered to their rooms before moving in.

If you have additional questions on the residential living services detailed above, please contact Residence Life at residencelife@villanova.edu. We are looking forward to your arrival in August!
