VU101: June 15, 2022

Laptop Requirements, Banking Options
June 15, 2022
Villanova University and New Student Orientation will continue to send VU101 emails throughout the summer to keep you updated on important information and help prepare for your arrival. To view past emails, please visit the New Student Orientation website.
Laptop Requirements by College
Each College (VSB, CLAS, Nursing, Engineering, CPS) has specific technical requirements expected of their students to be successful in the classroom. Please visit the University Information Technology (UNIT) website and select your College to see what is needed before you arrive on campus.
Banking Options
For families looking for a convenient banking option, the University’s banking partner is JPMorgan Chase. Two Chase ATMs are located on campus—in the Connelly Center and St. Mary’s Hall (in the St. Mary’s mailroom area)—and a Chase branch is located in the Villanova Center within walking distance from main campus. More information on Chase services for students can be found at chase.com/student or by scheduling a meeting. More information on Chase branches can be found using the branch locator. Students are not required to bank with Chase, and there are a number of other banking options available in the local area surrounding the University.
Tips from Our Student Chairperson: Hannah Murphy, CLAS ‘23
Try to take each day as it comes and not get caught up in planning your entire college journey. Instead, welcome new experiences and opportunities as they arise. Doing so will allow you to grow and embrace the amazing qualities that make you unique and learn new things about yourself along the way!
Additionally, take advantage of the wide variety of clubs, organizations and resources available on Villanova’s campus. Continue a hobby or interest from high school or pursue a new passion—let your interests and curiosity guide you! The Orientation program will familiarize you with a wide variety of resources, organizations and offices here to support you as you become a member of the Villanova community.
… lastly, as a practical piece of advice, don’t forget a raincoat or an umbrella!
Villanova University and New Student Orientation are looking forward to welcoming you to campus. If you have additional questions regarding Orientation, please contact us at orientation@villanova.edu, and follow us on Instagram at @NovaOrientation.
