STUDENT LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

POWER

Three students staff a POWER table at a campus event

Peers Offering Wellness Education & Resources

Members of POWER work in teams to sponsor and facilitate events related to health and well-being. We have the opportunity to plan events and programs, create social media and marketing campaigns, present to student organizations, assist in larger Office of Health Promotion events, and more! We can also host interactive health programs with student organizations and other departments.

We are a group of students who are passionate about health and well-being! Through three different branches of the POWER family tree, we work collaboratively as a student organization to provide the Villanova community with information, resources, events, and programs related to health and well-being. Being a part of the Office of Health Promotion allows us to have a greater impact on the Villanova community.”

POWER Administrative Assistants (AAs)

This branch of POWER is a paid position that works approximately 5 hours per week. They assemble materials, distribute the Stall Street Journal, help with event set-up and clean-up, and track and manage our inventory of giveaways.

POWER Interns

This branch of POWER offers academic credit for three different types of internships. Interns develop and coordinate general programming led by campus and community experts or staff, and coordinate social media and marketing content including the Stall Street Journal. This internship requires a 10-hour weekly commitment throughout the fall and spring semesters.

POWER Community Advocates (CAs)

This branch of POWER is a volunteer position with a flexible two-hour weekly commitment. CAs develop and deliver peer-led programs, facilitate tables and outreach efforts, and support alcohol-free programming in partnership with other student organizations.

Applications are due in March and interviews are conducted every April. However, you can submit your application at any time! If you are passionate about health and well-being, then POWER is the perfect fit!

Your First Villanova Birthday

Don’t see what you are looking for?

We want to work with you to create an opportunity to discuss important health and well-being issues that meet your needs. Contact the Office of Health Promotion to discuss other available programs. Want to create your own? POWER is always accepting program requests. Please allow at least two weeks in advance of the desired program date.

POWER is always accepting applications, and we make it easy for you! There is only ONE application for all three branches of POWER. Students are asked to indicate their interest in one or more branches of POWER in the application, and the interview process helps us to determine where someone is best suited. We conduct the POWER interview process every April, and we identify the newest members of the POWER family before the end of the spring semester. If you have questions about POWER, the application, or the interview process, contact the Office of Health Promotion.

POWER is always accepting program requests. Please allow two weeks for all requests.

Resident Assistants can request a Community Builder. Please allow two weeks for all requests.
