As a premier global business school, VSB prepares students to serve as ethical leaders within a competitive global business environment. We achieve this by immersing students in rigorous, relevant, and innovative education programs that connect theory to the current practice of management.

We encourage you to help us bridge that connection between theory and practice by getting involved with VSB and interacting with our students.

Internships and Job Opportunities

Alumni and parents can provide an academic internship at their company, which allows students to receive a meaningful and real-world professional experience as part of their business education.

Master of Science in Finance Mentor Program

VSB’s Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program places strong emphasis on professional development to help students enhance their interview and networking skills. The mentorship experience provides MSF students with invaluable contacts in “the real world” as well as an opportunity to practice their networking skills.

Host a corporate site visit

Alumni can host a group of undergraduate or graduate students for a site visit at their corporations. Such visits help students gain firsthand experience and insight into a particular industry and have an opportunity to network with alumni within the company.

Membership on a VSB Advisory Council

VSB has more than 225 high-profile executives who currently serve on the school’s nine advisory councils.

VSB advisory councils are purely advisory and consultative in nature. These councils provide strategy, significant advice, recommendations, and feedback on the important strategic initiatives such as curricula development, student initiatives, faculty research, stakeholder engagement, reputation, and external outreach. Advisory council members assist VSB with strengthening corporate relationships to increase internships and full-time positions. They also support VSB by making themselves available to speak in the classroom or to student business societies or at other VSB-sponsored programs and initiatives. VSB advisory councils do not serve as decision-making bodies.

The Executive-in-Residence (EIR) program provides VSB students with the opportunity to interact on a personal level with business professionals from a variety of fields. In individual meetings, students are encouraged to discuss potential career paths with the EIR. Students are provided with profile information on each EIR in advance and are required to pre-register for a specific EIR appointment, which are held in Bartley Hall.

Practice with the Pros: Industry Mock Interviews

This program provides students with exposure to professionals who can offer interview insights and feedback regarding a particular field. As a participating professional, you conduct a 30-minute practice interview with students. During this time, we request that you ask students industry-specific questions and offer feedback on their performance. While students are given general interview advice through our on-campus practice interview service, it is our hope that your professional industry experience allows students to gain more industry-specific knowledge.
