ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Students hoping to broaden their perspectives on global markets, innovative business models, entrepreneurial practices, and creative problem-solving strategies are encouraged to study abroad.
Students can explore the impact of business practices on shaping industries beyond the U.S. while engaging in immersive professional experiences. In an increasingly global market, studying abroad offers an exceptional opportunity to enhance your skills, broaden your perspective, and prepare for the next step in your career.
Entrepreneurship majors should begin the study abroad advising process as early as possible to make study abroad fit into the four year curriculum. Tell your academic advisor that you are interested in study abroad at each registration appointment. Together, identify the best terms to go abroad, for summer or semester, based on the courses in your four-year-plan.

- The ENTR program will consider overseas courses towards the major as long as those courses have an appropriate VU equivalent.
Search the OEA Course Approval History database to select from more than 3,000 study abroad courses that have already been pre-approved for liberal education requirements and a growing list of technical courses.
The Course Approval History database is not all-inclusive and students can work with an OEA advisor to submit additional courses for review.
Don't forget - CPS has a list of policies and limitations specifically focused on study abroad. Make sure you're aware of these as you plan your overseas experience.
Study abroad opportunities are not limited to formal instruction. Consider taking advantage of the unique research, internship, and fieldwork opportunities available overseas.
What does an international internship (and the process) look like?
CPS encourages students to consider programs that provide practical experiences. Internships are wonderful ways to gain hands-on, professional experience.
Internship opportunities exist within many of our programs, both through VU and partner programs. An internship pairs in-class instruction with hands on experience. Internships are generally 150 hours, total, for three-VU credits.
The internship placement process is based on individual student interests: academic, professional, and personal. Working with the placement team, students will enunciate these skills through both written essays and in-person/virtual interviews. Once a placement is assigned, the student has the opportunity to research and interview with the employer to ensure a good mutual fit.
Internship programs often combine coursework to allow students to continue with their studies while earning credit for the internship.
Summer Internship Opportunities
These programs are generally a minimum of 6-weeks long.

It is important to plan ahead as it is not uncommon for scholarship deadlines to occur much earlier than a Villanova or program application deadlines.
There are many scholarships available for students through Villanova University, our partner programs and other external sources, like the US Government. The OEA can help students with the scholarship search and application process. If a scholarship is found outside of the OEA scholarship page, students should have it reviewed by the OEA to determine if it is a viable option.
