2020 Poets & Quants Online MBA B-School Ranking

The Villanova School of Business (VSB) Online MBA ranked in the top ten among programs in the annual Poets&Quants ranking, coming in at #7 in the nation. VSB performed exceptionally well—earning the #2 spot—in the academic experience part of the methodology, largely comprised of the results of an extensive alumni survey.

Four VSB Faculty Members Rank in Stanford University's Database of Top Scientists in the World

VSB is pleased to announce that three of its world-renowned faculty members have been ranked in Stanford University’s new author database. Stanford created an updated science-wide database of more than 159,000 top scientists in the world. Only those who ranked in the top 2% in their respective fields are listed; the VSB faculty include:

  • Jonathan Doh, PhD, associate dean of Research and Global Engagement; Herbert G. Rammrath Endowed Chair in International Business; Co-Faculty Director, The Elenore and Robert F. Moran Sr. Center for Global Leadership; General Editor, Journal of Management Studies, was ranked among the top 1% in Business and Management, ranking 325 out of 36,319.
  • John A. Pearce II, PhD, VSB Endowed Chair and Professor of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship, was ranked in the top 1.4% in Business and Management, ranking 506 out of 36.319.
  • Pankaj Patel, PhD, Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Endowed Chair, Professor, Strategy and Innovation, was ranked among the top 2% in Business and Management, ranking 705 out of 36,319.
  • Charles R. (Ray) Taylor, PhD, John A. Murphy Professor of Marketing, was ranked among the top 1.2% in Marketing, ranking 126 out of 10,464.

VSB Creates New Minor in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
 
VSB has introduced the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) minor. Open to all business students, the three-course minor degree includes coursework on building prototype intelligent systems, natural language processing, expert systems, supervised and unsupervised learning, and robotics, among other areas that comprise the broad field of AI.

Matt Clark ’10 MBA Appointed as Chairperson of VSB’s Graduate Business Advisory Council (GBAC)

Clark, senior vice president of wealth management at UBS Financial Services, has been appointed as chairperson of GBAC, which advances the experience of graduate and executive students, identifies strategic partnerships and provides insight into trends that impact business education. In this role, Clark will partner with Manuel (Manny) Nuñez, associate dean, Graduate Business Programs, and Jeffrey Kudisch, PhD, associate dean, Corporate Relations and Executive Education, to establish council objectives that support all graduate and executive business programs and create synergy among the council to accomplish its mission.

Meet Chidinma "Chichi" Chioke '21 VSB! Chichi came to the U.S. from Nigeria to pursue a business degree; Chichi has realized how invested the faculty and staff at VSB are in every student's success. As the founding president of Villanova's chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), she has helped create a space for Black students to feel like they belong and can flourish in the accounting and financial worlds.
