Externships
The Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law Externship Program connects Students, Field Instructors (supervising attorneys) and Advising Faculty Members in a collaborative and supportive learning enterprise. The unique partnership provides a platform for all parties to mindfully integrate legal theory and legal practice, allowing for esteemed members of the Bar to collaborate with the law school in preparing law students for practice with real-world experience.
The Externship Program develop and enhance professional skills and responsibility, improve legal research and writing skills, and establish professional relationships with practitioners in the legal community. Externship Program participants gain valuable practical experience and insight into the legal profession.
The Moorad Center recognizes the value of externship placements for students and the difference it makes in achieving educational and professional objectives. The Externship Program has had numerous placements related to the Moorad Center, including several students a year in the Moorad Legal Fellowship.
If you are a company interested in offering an externship, please contact Matthew McGovern, Director of Experiential Learning at 610-519-3893 or mcgovern@law.villanova.edu.
